Royal Street in New Orleans runs through the middle of the French Quarter and is one of the original streets of the city dating from the early 18th century. It is know for it's numerous art galleries, shops and hotels but it is also residential. In the spring many of the residents take pride in adorning their wrought iron galleries with flowers and ferns. The ornate iron work, historic buildings and lush flower boxes make it one of the most beautiful streets in the city.
